The Bahamas Hosts 2nd Edition of ‘Come For The Romance’ Symposium
NASSAU, The Bahamas, (17 Aug. 2023) –Love, sun, sand and sea are always on display in The Bahamas. The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) and Bahamas Bridal Association (BBA) proudly present the much anticipated annual Come For The Romance Symposium.The four-day symposium will take place 29 Aug. – 4 Sept. 2023 at the Atlantis Resort.
Come For the Romance is a bridal and trade show experience that is designed to connect destination romance buyers with top local service providers. This year, as The Bahamas commemorates its 50th year of Independence, the symposium will raise awareness around the wide range of wedding and romance offerings available across The Islands of The Bahamas. Heading the agenda of the 2023 symposium is a wedding and romance-focused program that will include island hopping excursions, panel discussions, educational sessions, networking events, a trade show and a special soiree.
Come for the Romance Symposium will also highlight Eleuthera, Abaco, Grand Bahama and Exuma to showcase the diverse location settings that The Islands of The Bahamas has to offer, in addition to numerous hotel site tours of prime resorts in New Providence.
According to Freda Malcolm, Director of the BMOTIA Weddings & Honeymoons Department, the Ministry’s 20-year partnership with the BBA and the now annual romance symposium is an integral part of the weddings & honeymoons sector.
She said, “We have curated a dynamic multi-segment Symposium program that will deliver participants a grand showcase of The Bahamas and a memorable, interactive education on the destination. In addition to the featured trade show to be held at Atlantis, Paradise Island, the symposium will include site inspections, a day away to an Out Island, immersive evening experiences, tours/excursions (e.g., afternoon activities at Blue Lagoon, John Watlings tour) and much more.”
Sandra Sutherland, President of The Bahamas Bridal Association, highlighted the partnership between BMOTIA and BBA as one of the keys to the success of romance travel in The Bahamas.
Addressing prospective Symposium attendees, Sutherland said, “As our key partners in the romance travel market, it is important that we meet at regular intervals on site, within our destination, to reconnect, to update you on the ongoing improvements to our tourism product and to explore ways to expand your Bahamas business.”
